About 10 years ago I had a lung biopsy. Ever since I have had a numb patch across my back/front of rib cage (right side about 4-8" below armpit). Now I am trying to strength train for the first time. Overhead pressing leads to extreme sharp pain in this lower lat area. The pain will typically last for a day or two with plenty of ibuprofen. As a newb I have no idea why this is painful, but pulling is not. There is an asymmetry developing in this area between my left and right side.
Qs: how do I work up to being able to overhead press? Frustrated because my shoulders are strong enough, but that pain is debilitating.
Is there anything to be done about the asymmetry, or do I just trust my body will find a way to compensate?
