Yeah, I have done stuff like that with some of my female clients, because for them, getting to where they can do good quality push ups is a cool achievement.
Basically you are going to have one...
I'd go back to the 10 lb jumps. Once that runs out, then its down to 5 lb jumps. 20 lb jumps generally don't last too long and you will burn out quick.
Do you mean build up to 100 push ups??
No, don't train 2 days in a row on the novice program.
Example on a MWF schedule
Mon - Train
Weds - Missed session due to work commitment
Thurs - Do Weds planned workout here
Fri - Rest...
Yes,
You will still get a good "feel" for which arrangement works better for you. Remember, its not like you are stuck with your decision for life. You can always switch back and forth.
Homework assignment:
Week 1: Do Dips after Bench Press and count the reps you get, then chin after presses and count the reps.
Week 2: Do the inverse and count the reps
See what...
Fri 5/17
Stiff Leg Deadlifts (standing on 4 mats)
10 x 135
5 x 225
2 x 315
1 x 365
8 x 405
8 x 385
In other words, it my experience it just seems easier to do all the slow pulling at once rather than spread out over the week. You're right, if the total volume is the same, it doesn't seem like it...
This was a very impromtu recording. I apologize for all the "ums" and "uhs." This is just some random stuff that I thought might be helpful, based on some FAQs I get in the forum.
Let me know...
Probably don't AMRAP on this protocol.
Just doesn't seem like 2 reps at 85% should burn you out. Regardless, I generally do singles for all my warm up sets other than my first few warms ups with 135 and 225. There I generally do 10 and...
Yes, basically I agree. It never really makes sense to burn yourself out on warm up sets prior to your work sets.
This works on volume day 5x5 too. For instance:
10 x bar
5 x 135
3 x 225
1...
My thoughts are that you are probably doing an excessive amount of weight or volume on your deadlift warm up sets. You should not need that long of a rest after a warm up set.
Go ahead and try the one on/two off program. Some reduced frequency will do you some good.
Re your deadlift: I think you are either squatting high or your deadlift needs some coaching. 300x5...
That's good but your jumps are too big for this program. 2.5 to 5 lb jumps at the most if you want long term progress.
I never time myself between warm up sets. I just know when to go. Between works sets (when doing sets across) I do 8-10 minutes on the main lifts and 2-5 on my assistance work depending on what I...
On Squat Day.
That pretty much looks like the same routine as above minus the arm stuff. Its pretty minimal though. You'll probably be fine. Do the arm stuff if you want and have the energy...
I think that would be fine.
Depends on the amount and type of conditioning. Light elliptical trainer for 20 mins on the first off day is fine. 5 mile jog on both days is not.
