I have a 13yo , 130lbs skinny-fat friend who wants to get into lifting , to build some muscle.
I'm going to 'coach' him in a few days , though I need a coach myself !
I don't know if I should...
I don't really but into the whole 'deadlifts are dangerous' thing
but these guys are funny as hell

I loved the " deadlfits are all about glutes...
I think Callador already said something similar , about ' coiling up like a spring '. So you just have to slow the eccentric , or is there more to it ?
He even insists in his article that squatting deep is essential. Damn
I was reading an article about squats on T-nation by a certain John Gaglione. The dude was hyuuge and looked like he knew what he talked about and then I saw that "squat" he did.

Thank you I'll try that. But even my upper body feels unstable , I don't feel like I'm controlling the bar. Some guys actually look like they're pulling the bar towards them and reverse the motion...
Here's a vid of a backoff set at just 85KG. (sorry for it being upside down , the video is being processed by youtube)
Doesn't look very tight , and still looks better than my heavy sets
...
a bit wide , and only my toes are in contact with the ground. My bench is currently stalled and I think it's because of that.
Here is what it looked like.
Week 1 : 110KG x 2 : And I think I had...
This was done unfortunately with a belt. The bar doesn't go up in a straight path , and my back and legs are a bit shaky.
I've been benching for quite some time now , but I think I still have technique problems.
I try to bench with powerlifting technique , I've learnt to arch my lower back quite a bit , but I feel very...
squatting narrow is very uncomfortable for me. I might be able to bring my stance a little bit in , but not much.
THis is a back off set. I think I have some depth issues , but not sure. I was sure these reps were well below parallel , and then I see the vid. I don't know if it's the angle , or I'm actually...
WHat are your thoughts on a high rep set of squats , after you've done your heavy sets ?
Doing one rep after another with 65-70% feels just fucking good.
"The best way to bench 400 pounds is to press 300 pounds" - Jim Wendler
I'd love to hear your take on that , coach.
Thanks.
I found for me that squatting and DLing once a week wasn't enough. I squat one day heavy , and one day for sets across with moderate weight. Same thing for deadlifts , with a bit less volume. I don't...
Maybe I should remove the fat gripz (I actually use them when I curl) , they really kill my forearms.
I know for sure that chins/db rows gives me sore abs , so maybe I should stick with pull downs...
Hey Callador ;)
I am going to do what you said. I am afraid that doing upper back work the day before deadlifting will affect my deadlift , I am also afraid that arm training will affect my grip...
Deload + start eating like a man. You don't absolutely have to eat a tremendous amount of food , just add more food until you are gaining at least a pound (preferably two) per week.
Heyy guys ,
I recently switched to a lower upper split , as full body workouts became too draining and I really had no energy for so many lifts in the same workout.
Yesterday I did some ATG...
