I've had flu symptoms for about a week (not the big C)

First day i noticed any incoming sickness I decided to train anyway. Didn't sleep well the night before and figured it was just general tiredness. Well, the next day I was more sore than I've ever been. Quads and glutes were absolutely blown up, could hardly get off the toilet that morning. So I knew something was up since I haven't felt any soreness since the first week of starting the LP

A week later, I'm still sick, and still fuckin sore?? Feels like my quads have been getting an hour of isolation work a day and I haven't been doing shit all week. Just sleeping, drinking water with added electrolytes, and eating plenty of food.

As the flu starts to subside, should I jump back into my training, or give myself a few non-sick days to let my body recover before going back to my next session. Seriously feels like I haven't recovered almost at all since my last training day 6 days ago

I had a similar experience last Christmas. I trained hard on Friday and got up Saturday feeling like I had not recovered. it took about a week to get over the symptoms and get back to training. I was mostly disappointed because it hurt my train compliance percentage for the year, hahaha. I was 100% up to then.

I hope you feel better soon. I can say that for me, the best way to get rid of that last bit of chest congestion is some heavy HIT cardio.

I’m old. What is HIT cardio? I looked it up on something called Google and all I found was HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). Is that the same thing? Or is it High Intensity Training?

In general, unless trauma is involved or some other cause of broken bones or broken other organs (and you’re not using heavy duty pain meds to cover up stuff), your body is remarkably well-adapted for keeping you from doing things that will make your pathology worse. I know of no instances where an infectious disease such as a viral syndrome like influenza would be made worse by doing an intense work-out . You may FEEL like crap and you may miss reps but it shouldn’t kill you.

Personally, when I get sick I don’t work out. That’s not because I want to avoid further injury but because I’m lazy and I’m already looking for excuses not to.

The only caveat to that would be a heavy set of an exercise where dizziness or weakness in general causes you to fall, break your head, neck, back, etc. I’m thinking of a solo heavy bench without a spotter who gives enough of a shit to not want your crushed throat on his conscience.

I could probably think of other exceptions but would need to be in a very pensive mood, have a lot of time, or be liquored up. Maybe infectious myocarditis which I doubt you have.

I think you'd have to say that vax-induced myocarditis is a form of infectious myocarditis. Yes, I'm certain of this.

No fever as of today (supposed to be a training day), and I'm feeling better generally speaking. Only thing is my chest is a little tight and breathing is labored. I'm going to give training a go today and see how I do. Only worry is getting enough oxygen into my lungs with my breathing being a little rough still

I don’t know that it’s technically an infectious disease but it IS iatrogenic which is sort of medicalese for unforced error (at least for a healthy young person who’s not a healthcare worker or hooker).
