    Hi Andy,

    Last week on Intensity day I missed the last rep of my Press topset (165x5). I'm trying to decide how to proceed from here. During an LP the answer is always just re-do until you can complete all reps but I was wondering if I should instead shift to triples or just try for 170x5 next time. What would you recommend?

    How does the Press generally respond to TM programming?

    Knock out triples for about 3 weeks if you can and then switch to 5 singles across. When you exhaust the singles, go back to a 5RM with heavier weights.

    Is this the basic progression you'd follow for all them main lifts on TM?

    And are triples being done for just a few weeks because they then stall, or for other reasons?

    In my experience, triples don't tend to last that long when used week after week. My best intermediate programs are a mix of singles and 5's.
