So I have it ingrained in my head that I need to buy a GHD and a safety squat bar. I don't know why, but it's all I can think about. Can someone please talk me out of it and say it's not going to do anything for my squat and deadlift and I should just wait to find one for cheap on craigslist with any luck?

The GHD is fine. I'm pretty sure it would help both of your lifts.

The SSB, only buy it if you have nothing else to buy.

I have decided that everyone should have an SSB.

Now I want a GHD. Lowest price I've found so far is $330 (I haven't looked very much though).

    Where???

I've read that you need a properly designed one though, if it doesn't have the right knee pad and stuff it's can turn the exercise into a simple hamstring curl. Anyone know if that's true?

I've seen the GHD for around the $350-$400 range between the interwebz and craigslist, but I have never used one, so I wouldn't know the difference between a "properly designed" versus a plain Jane.

The reason I want the SSB is 1.) I like having specialty bars 2.) I want to use it for squat BBB in 5/3/1 and strengthen up my back to resist folding over in the squat.

The CFF GHD was the one that I liked online, but I can't seem to get any reviews on it from people familiar with GHD's. Thanks for the links
