The earlier Bob's Belt link also showed a deadlift belt that only tapers to 3.5 inches in the front and is still 4 inches in the back. I also have a short torso and the 4 inch belt I have been using (borrowing) digs in my hips considerably leaving some nasty bruises. I was considering the EliteFTS tapered belt but don't really want to reduce down by that much in the front. I guess the choice would be between the junior belt or the deadlift belt for me. A bit pricey once I add in shipping to Canada, but hopefully for high quality and to have it last a long time it should be worth it.

    AaronRFD,

Let us know what you choose and how it works out for you. I'm pretty much decided on the Junior 3" belt, and I will update this thread once I get it and use it a few times. Although I've decided on the 3" leather, I'm still curious as to how that Spud deadlift belt would do for a little guy squatting. If anyone takes the $40 (IIRC) plunge, be sure to post your impressions. Not depressions, those are the whole reason we're looking for different belts. Thanks guys.

That said they are going to be pricey but its a purchase you only have to but once.

Anyone interested in plain old 4" belts I can get them sent to you all day long for $30 for a multiply leather 1/2 thick belt
any chance you send them to Israel?

OK, I realize this isn't timely, but I wanted to give the belt I ordered a bit more of a trial than a few workouts before giving an opinion. I went with the deadlift belt from Bob's Belts, the one that is 4" around with a 3" taper at the front in order to accommodate my short torso. While it took about a month to get here ( I did order it around Xmas time which likely didn't help) I am quite happy with it so far. I used Rip's method to break it in which works well. And it still gives some surface area for my belly to brace against where I found trying other belts with a 2" taper just seemed to be lacking. I would think shipping time would be a little quicker within the States, but since I was borrowing a belt from a training partner before I felt I could wait a little longer for a good quality belt that I wanted.

So you like the 3 inches in front? I agree, I have the Junior belt, 3 inches all the way around, and I'm really enjoying it. Don't really have anything to add other than for others reading this, Bob's Belts offers a quality product.
