Anybody a collector, marksman, military guy, whatever?

I like shootin 'em, and I'd collect more if it wasn't such an expensive hobby.

I own a Beretta Px4 .40 cal and a Remington 700 .270.
I've shot a Blackhawk 1911 custom .45, AR-15, and multiple Sigs, Berettas, S&W's, H&K's, and the list goes on.

I'd really like to own an AR-15 and a custom 1911 when possible.

(I realize this could quickly turn into a gun rights thread - I'd rather not if possible. Just looking to see who likes to shoot for fun or collects. This isn't about protection of property, etc.) Let's see how far this goes...

I was just thinking how badly someone would be incriminating themselves if a british person admitted to woning a gun on teh interwebz.

Guns are so damn illegal here.

People want to ban bb guns too.

I had the chance to do rifle target shooting a couple times as a kid. I was extremely good at it. If I was a rich white person who lived out in the country maybe I could go hunting without being tracked by MI5 and accused of training for al qaeda.

When I was a kid I just did it with air rifles at summer camp type things.

There used be be gun clubs (for adults obviously) for which you needed a license to use the guns.

I believe taking part in such an activity has become more and more difficult.

You need to either have extroadinary amounts of private land or be a regular fee paying member of target shooting clubs which is also rare & exclusive.

You also need a massive safe to keep your firearm locked away, and no-one is allowed to touch it but yourself.

The whole thing is beyond reach for the normal person and with it comes huge amounts of social stigma (everyone will presume you are an evil cirminal) and you will be (check the pun) shooting yourself in the foot in legal terms as you will always be under high suspicion for everything. There would be so many accidental ways for you to end up in prison.

Really really it is not worth it for anyone, especially if you are not white.

I compete in USPSA/IPSC 3-gun tournaments. I have an AR-15 (built it myself; was really easy and a lotta fun), 9mm S&W M&P (love it!), and a good 'ol fashioned pump mossberg 12 gauge. I'd like to get an autoloader shotty next (really slows me down using a pump but I just compete against myself type thing). Also, I really like 1911 .45s. They are a ton of fun to shoot! Just need to stop partying for a few weekends so I can save some coin for the purchases

I own one, my all purpose people hunting/home security rifle is an AK47 with a drum clip...just in case.

I do however thoroughly enjoy shooting skeet and want to get into hunting. I understand this is a gun thread but I always thought spear hunting would be bad ass.
