Dang! Great endurance there on all the pressing. How long does a simple session like this last for?

Depends on if I am lifting alone or if my partner actually shows up, Jack. Yesterday I lifted alone and this took about 45 minutes. If my partner was there it would have taken about 90 minutes because of the B.S. that flows freely! This was my light and quick bench day so that helped. It it would have been my heavy day it would have taken quite a bit longer.

I was close grip benching yesterday, and found that I'm good for two more reps with the belt. I usually wear it when I bench, but the effect seemed more significant with a close grip. You're probably the most prolific close grip bencher here so I thought I'd ask you.

Whoa! Sounds like that could be right up my alley. How tight do you wear it, as tight as during a squat? I just may have to give that a try.

    Front squat
    135x5
    185x1
    255x1
    335x1
    TBDL
    275x1
    350x1
    430x1

That was all I had in me this morning. Sheetrock is beating me down and its time to finish up hanging the last of it in a few minutes.

Maybe a hole looser, but I go as tight as possible when I squat.

That sounds about right. I also go as tight as possible when I squat too.

    Thanks!

Crap. I forgot about the belt while benching thing. Someday maybe I'll actually think about it when I'm actually benching.

Good news and bad news. The bad news first, I didnt' get all my reps close gripping today. The good news is that I don't really care. I got 19 out of the planned 25 reps.

    16" Close grip
    140x15
    240x7
    260x2
    290x2
    345x5 !
    345x4
    345x4
    345x3
    345x3
    Dips
    BWx30
    BWx30
    BWx30

I've mentioned time and again that I buckled to peer pressure and started this cycle about 30lbs heavier than I should have but figured that I was going to be gone and wouldn't finish it so no big deal. Well, looks like I won't be gone now so this is going to become very very tough. Oh well, I'll ride this hoss till it throws me off.

No spotter to start with today, my partner has been flat on his back sick since last Friday. So the first set with 345 was alone. It really went pretty well but it may have been fear that helped with with the 5th rep. Then he came draggng his butt out and spotted me on the next four sets before going back to bed. I wore down rapidly as can be seen by the final two sets, I used 6 minutes between all my sets. Maybe I should have taken more, I don't know.

I'll admit to feeling pretty good though about getting nearly 350lbs for 5 reps. And nearly 350lbs for 19 total reps. That is the work I need to get stronger.

Dips were pretty darned light and easy after that!

You ever think about competing? Seems like you'd do pretty well, really. You'd put up a 1300 total easy-peasy.

No way I'm getting under 345 without someone over me.

Wondering how far your cycle will take you.

Terts, never had any interest. I dunno why, maybe so many different federations with different rules. If I took my best numbers ever and added 'em up I'd total somewhere in the 1575 raw range. But of course, no one ever totals their gym bests. I'm pretty happy doing what I'm doing.

Mac, I'm hoping to end up back around 410 or 415 for a single. An outside chance at 420 if everything holds togather. Since my absolute best for 3 is 380, I'd be awful happy with 385x3.
