I meant there is difference of bar placement. Rip's "low bar" is not as low as a "powerlifting lowbar". This would explain why somone at the gym the OP trains at said it isn't low enough.
The bar positioning is a matter of preference, but the spot next to the spine of scapula that rip recommends is most secure. I have the IPF handbook and it actually has rules about the bar positioning, doesnt seem that its even allowed to be much lower than that. Even if it was, the lifter would have a tought time keeping it there, especially at competition 1RM weights, even more so with geared weights.

Some powerlifters still squat high bar too.

    Yo

So yesterday I did shoulder dislocations first, then while getting under the bar I would pull my shoulders down and together and then I placed the bar where it seemed to fit which was a bit higher than where I was placing it before. I wasn't thinking about my elbows too much but they seemed to be naturally a bit more down with this bar position.

    And my elbows felt better!

Now I just need to fix up the other parts of my squat form, notably knees caving in and my lacknof hip drive. But when I try sitting back, I feel like I might fall backwards?
