I had an unpleasant surprise but hamb's situation is different.

    Weight, there is more.

This hobby is like a crack addition. (Except for the part when the destitute crack addict is on the corner looking to suck some guy's dick for another hit...)

Got the new texas method ebook today. Got some good stuff in it. Right now I'm just trying to figure out if it would be better to alternate my heavy work with medium work or with speed sets.

    squat heavy, deadlift medium
    squat medium, deadlift heavy

    VS.

    squat heavy, speed deadlift
    speed squat, heavy deadlift

The speed option seems to be what's recommended in the book, and I know Marotta had good results with it before he harmed his buttock. I have a few weeks to decide for sure what I want to do.

    Squat
    2x5 @ 315

    Bench
    1+2+3
    1+2+3
    1+2+3 @ 225

    Sumo Deadlift
    1x3 @ 455

    Ab Wheel
    2x5 from knees

Felt rested enough to lift today. Doing a ladders routine for the bench for the next few weeks. Really happy about how sumo deads went. 455 was hard, but not really a limit set. I don't think I'll have a hard time surpassing my conventional numbers.

    Last set was hard-ish.

    Sumo Deadlift
Up to a double at 315. Not doing these until next friday.

    Ab Wheel
    2x6 from knees.

    Squat
    2x5 @ 315
Legs were ridiculously sore from monday. I didn't realize it at the time, but it had been a month since I had done a full volume day for squats.

    Bench
    1+2+3
    1+2+3
    1+2+3 @ 250
    Getting a little harder.

    Chinups
