Not as old as God, but maybe as old as dirt?

Well, I was thinking basic training, not MILSPEC. I'm actually very fond of military standards. Surplus and contract-overrun military gear is cheap, well made, and durable. My primary shoes have been used army boots for... 15 years? Started wearing them in high school, and really only started wearing other shoes in the last couple years. I've similarly been through several field jackets, etc. And when I recently decided to invest in a decent watch, I got a Navigator's Watch, with tritium tubes (SCIENCE!).

So close and yet so far.

Eating actual meals would probably help.

Currently lamenting no foam roller in the office. Legs are killing me. Probably because I've been in here all damn day.

Maybe some time with the power wheel would help... (on my agenda before sleeping bag time anyway).

When I was going to the globogym, I found dumbbells made a pretty good substitute. Also pick up a softball.

I've got a lacrosse ball here that I use. It's just not very efficient for doing my legs.

I can now say that I can do at least one honest chin-up, without warming up. Pull-ups are a ways off yet. So while I haven't gotten stronger in a lot of other ways, recently, at least I've improved on this.

First day back, hopefully of many.

Weighed in: 87.6 kg (i think).

    Squat
    185 x5x3

    Chins
    2, 1, 1

So, I've decided I'm going to try to hit the gym every other day or there abouts, and do two lifts a day. It'll be squats & chins, deadlifts & press. At least to start. Might alternate the deadlifts with power cleans or snatches once I start getting the weight back up.

Squats weren't that hard, but it's been about two months since i last squatted (with the bar, at any rate), so I didn't want to go heavier and be gimping around for two days. I think that's the first double I've ever done on chins. I intend to do more as the evening wears on, but I couldn't bear being in the oven of the gym surrounded by idiots any longer. Especially when I can do chins in my office while I'm working.

Need to get some creatine. Suggestions welcome.

Oven of a gym. That's right, it's hot in the Midwest now. Really odd too, because we had a huge cold front wreak havoc here in SoCal in the last several days.
