First post on the forum. Below I have two videos, you can skip to the second one if you want to cut to the chase.
After seeing my own squat form for the first time in the first video, I noticed that my hips rose faster than my chest. After I tipped forward I decided to back off and concentrate on getting my hamstrings to do more work. You will also find a video of my deadlift in the first video.
I took off 30lbs in my next video so I could make sure that my chest and hips rose at about the same rate. Would appreciate any feedback, thanks ahead of time.
I don't know if this is a best practice, but I'll just stick to this thread for future form checks I post. This way I won't have to populate the forum with multiple threads.
Nothing looks wrong to me , though I'd like to argue that you are extending your knees before your hips at the descent (both should be done simultaneously) but wait for someone more experienced to confirm.
Thanks for the response, Exter. I considered it for my workout today.
Below are some more videos from my workout today. I'm particularly interested in my powerclean form because this is something I've never been happy with. Thanks in advance for anyone taking the time to critique.
I will come back and comment on your videos in a bit, but I must say that the guy in the background on your power clean vid who walks out what is possibly 135 lbs about 20 feet from the rack in order to partial squat it is AWESOME.
Hahah, if you check my March 28, 2011 video at 1:55 and blow it up you can see the confusion on his face when I was full squating 225. Oh my blown knees... Polite guy though.
