    Default GOMAD or no?

Hi guys, I'm 22 years old, 6ft and 180lbs and on S.S., seeing decent gains. I was thinking of starting GOMAD till I hit 200lbs. Necessary or no? I am far from skinny but not overweight at all. Thanks in advance.

    My work sets:

    Squat: 230
    Bench: 200
    Press: 150
    DL: 300

Yeah you would probably be a good candidate for starting gomad since your numbers are getting up there. If you didn't want to do gomad and instead just ate a lot of good solid food, that would work as well. How has your weight changed over time since you started? And what numbers did your lifts start at?

I don't recommend suddenly starting to drink a gallon of milk a day after not drinking any. Ease into it and see how things go.

    Agree.

If you have trouble eating enough to gain weight, I would add milk. I would start with a 1/2 gallon, or maybe even a 1/3 and see what that does for a week first.

    Started:
Squat: 200 (got up to 265 with LB but switch to HB really shot my numbers down)
    Bench: 175 (+25)
    Press: 120 ( +30)
    DL: 240 (+70)

PS.For the past month I haven't been lifting seriously due to illness and vacations.

My weight has gone up only 6lbs since my start on April 24th, so almost 3 months on SS(2 proper ones).

Yeah, so given that you've basically gained no weight since starting, you have a large margin for increasing your calorie consumption. Gomad would probably be good for you, and you may not even gain that much weight with it anyway. Work up to the full gallon like the above posters suggest if you find you can't tolerate it all at the beginning.

Start with 1/3, see how your gains are. Once that gets too fucking hard and you start stalling, up it to compensate. As long as you gain weight steadily AS YOUR LIFTS GO UP, you won't get fat.

Otherwise you get fat and spend 3 months trying to lose it.

Thanks for that advice, there's no harm in starting low and upping it if I need to. Cheers.
