Nice, Paul! I like the way you address the bar. I can see you're not strapped in, but did you have a mixed grip there? Just idly curious.
Meanwhile, I PR'd a three-wheel deadlift. And a new squat PR.
This may have something to do with jumping off the intermittent fasting bandwagon a couple days ago and putting on five pounds in two days.
Any grip is legal in a meet, provided you don't use straps.
I'm on to a winner then. Whoop! It was painful to learn though.
Yeah it is. Its honestly like I've glued my hands to the bar!
So I know this is pretty lame to most of you especially considering how long I've been on the forums, but I squatted 2 plates today for the first time.
I'm proud of this for 2 reasons.
I've been 5'5 and 140lb for the last decade so squatting 225lb is just not something I ever imagined I'd be able to do.
The second reason is because I started SS around November last year and I ended up stalling at a 160lb squat and bodyweight. I took the last several months to work on my diet and figure out what the problem was with my form and I was able to smoke through my old PRs and make more progress in the last 2 weeks than I have in the 4 months before that. 225 went up pretty easy today and I know I have a lot more in me.
Oh another awesome moment happened to me on Wednesday. I was doing my warmup sets and the last one was at 185 and it felt heavier than normal. I loaded up 220lb and got under the bar and as soon as I unracked it I felt a wave of panic go through me. It was my first time really feeling the fight or flight reaction while squatting. I had to fight every urge to rack the bar but I managed my 3x5.
