    Starting Strength Workout B
    04/03/12
    Tim

    Squats: 270x5x3

These were pretty hard. My form is starting to really breakdown, especially on the last set.

    Press: 122ishx1x4 120x1x5 120x1x3

FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU!!!! I can't explain this. I rested 6 minutes between each set so it wasn't a rest issue. I did however play handball for about 1.5 hours on Monday so maybe my arms weren't at 100%

    Deadlifts: 330x1x5

These were pretty hard too. I struggled once the 4th and 5th rep got passed my knee.

    Shitty, shitty day.

Go up by 10s on deadlift not 15. Are you coming home on Saturday? We can get the press worked out.

    Squats:
    Tom: 400x5
IDK, check the video and you tell me? Squatted in .75" heels. Felt sooo much better and tighter. Maybe I should do some mobility work.

    Bench:
    Tom: 235x4x1
Of all places, I actually missed this at lockout. Really strange. That has NEVER happened before. I'm going to incorporate the stuff I talked to SR about. In fact, I started today. Going for 232.5x5x3 next time. I'll return to microloading. I've gotten all the 5lbs jumps I'm going to get.

    Cleans:
    Tom: 200x1x1
This was not that great of a day. I think this may have to do with deadlifts being on Wednesday, but who knows? I took a 10lbs jump. Obviously, my days of doing that are done. 195# next Wednesday.

    Wide-grip Pullups:
    Tom:
235x5x2 /w orange light band, 235x2 with body weight
Has it really come to this? I suck at pullups/chins. I'll be doing them twice a week from now on. Chins on Saturday. Pullups/Curls on Wednesday.

    Dips:
    Tom: 240x5, 240x8
These were not hard, but they were harder than I expected. Triceps are definitely the weak links in my presses right now. 250 next Wednesday. I'm going to do them like this, 2x5, 1x5+. I'll stop at 8 no matter what. I have no desire to do a 15 rep set or something like that.

    Curls:
    Tom: 45x5, 55x5, 65x5, 75x5, 85x5
85 was embarrassingly hard. I will repeat 85 next time with 2x5, 1x5+. The bicep/forearm pump was pretty fun though.

Vid looked good to me. The only rep that the depth looked questionable was rep 4, and even then I wouldn't presume to be a qualified enough judge to criticize it. Nice squatting, Tom. That chunk of iron looks good on you ;-p

How wide do you go on your Pull-ups, Tom? I am just curious.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm fine with the depth. They're not blatantly high or anything. I'll just have to make sure to think about burying my 1RM attempts.

On chins, I take a grip slightly wider than shoulder-width. For pullups, I just go as wide as the rack will let me.

It's not impressive when you can only do two reps with body weight, lol.

That's because it's a silly exercise. Really. Shitty ROM, shitty leverages. And it doesn't work the biceps. Why are you doing those again?

Chins monday, Pullups/curls Friday. Might do Chins Monday, One Arm DB Row/Curls Friday, though. I just wanted some more upperbody pulling in the week somewhere and I didn't want to do chins twice if I was going to curl that day.
