    Default Wikipedia article on Mark Rippetoe??

    Just was wondering what you guys thought of Rippetoe's wikipedia article. I found the following section the most... ah, "interesting".

    I didn't know he "created" the 5x5 program, as well as advocates only 2 sessions per week. Seems of all the awesome things he's done, wiki sort of picked the lame things to focus on. (Disclaimer: I don't have my book yet, so if he actually only advocates 2 sessions per week in the beginning, flame on.)

    You dont need the book to know what SS advocated 3 sessions a week with 3 sets, not 5.

    Whoever edited the wiki page should have done better research.

    Also wondering: I checked out a few "other" coaches on wikipedia and Mr. Rippetoe is the only one who has his political party mentioned. That seems a little polarizing, but it might just have to do more with his outspokenness and personality.

    That article is marked for possible deletion.

    I don't edit Wikipedia, but maybe somebody on here could rewrite it and somehow join the process to get a more respectable article posted.

    I checked wikipedia a while ago and it didn't have a Mark Rippetoe entry.

    Outstanding catch. I have been using some form of this moniker off and on for about 6 years and its the first time someone's even come close.

    Checking out the discussion seems like its angling in favor of keeping the article. Sadly its his connection to CrossFit that seems to be the deciding factor

    The article was created 11/20 and it seems someone on this forum went ahead and made incorporated respective criticisms in the article.

    Mark Rippetoe created the 'Starting Strength' weight training program. It involves 3 sets of 5 repetitions of four main lifts (the squat, bench press, press, and deadlift) and gradually increasing the weights in each session until a plateau is reached. He advocates 3 sessions per week for beginners and drinking a gallon of whole milk per day if underweight to maximize strength gains.

    If someone is editing it, here's some tidbits:

    1) Doesn't mention "Power Clean" as one of the main lifts
    2) "Strength and conditioning for fencing" is cited twice in the articles
