    Default Home Brew/ Homemade Beer

Anyone here make their own beer? I searched but nothing really came up. I'm just starting out the last 6 months or so, currently on my 3rd batch. Ive just made lighter beers so far, but i plan on stepping it up soon. Share any recipes if youve got them.

I haven't, but I have been thinking about trying to do it for a long time. It's illegal in my state, but there's still places that sell the equipment somehow lol. I want to try to make a killer IPA.

Fuck yeah! Got a bunch of bottles cold conditioning in my fridge as we speak. Made an IPA. Can't wait to open them in a couple months.

I just got my recipe from Mr. Beer. That's the company that made my kit. Was really easy to do.

It's the Bombay Bliss IPA http://www.mrbeer.com/product-exec/p...ay_Bliss_IPA_1

What kinds of light beers have you made so far?

What state do you live in? I thought it was federal law that banned it until 1979.

John- that IPA does sound good. And ive just gotten mine off mr beer too. Ive made the West Coast Pale Ale the kit came with, a Pilothouse Pilsner thats conditioning, and I have a Whispering Wheat in the keg right now. Ive ordered the stuff to make a blue moon clone haha.

That's awesome man. How'd the West Coast Pale Ale turn out? I didn't make it yet. More a fan of IPAs so I did that one first haha.

Lemme know how the pils comes out too.

The west coast was good, not spectacular, but good.

Is there any reason glass bottles I find in the bushes couldn't be cleaned and sanitized? Haha

I think they get around the law because it is legal to buy the equipment and ingredients, but it's not legal to actually make the beer. I brewed beer when I was 18-19 and never got any crap for buying the supplies.

I would like to get back into it now, and IPAs are definitely my favorite.

Haha nah, don't even sanitize. I'm sure the the Hepatitis and AIDS will only make the beer taste better.

Oh, gotcha. You better petition your governor to cut that out! Your state's missing out on a booming microbrewery industry.

IPAs are awesome. My absolute favorite is a stout, though. Or a porter. Love my dark beer.
