It's not the warm up, believe me.

Then get 5x3 down to at most 45 minutes.

There are other things involved, such as me working in with 2 other guys on occasion and coaching them. Sometimes the 5x3 is really hard too.

That's silly if I tell you how many warm up sets you need to do. I was telling that to the OP.

Hmm... my squats also take a really long time to do. The thing is that it actually takes me some time to recover between even warm-up sets. One thing that kind of bugs me is that warm-up sets feel hard to me. like 135x5 still feels hard to some degree even if i'm doing 265 for my worksets.

Hadn't considered that conditioning would affect recovery between sets, but that actually sounds pretty reasonable. Is that generally an accepted concept ? haven't seen it mentioned in my web travels.

That sounds pretty weird to me. I'm only up to 170 on my worksets and 135 is such a nice feeling. It goes up and down easy and I can really focus on my form.

I started taking creatine monohydrate this week, and my rest periods between sets have reduced from 5 minutes to 2 minutes. this stuff is awesome.
