Any way to make a list like that sorted by price/gram of protein?

I grabbed the table from the site and dropped it into Excel. Added a column to calculate price/protein(g). The top 10 protein values: $/gram. McDouble wins again.

That's pretty interesting. I just did a quick calculation on the price per gram of protein in a 1lb bucket of Whey protein.

I used the nutrition and price of that one and, assuming my math was correct, the price per gram of protein comes out to right around the same as the Mcdouble.

I thought the whey would be a lot cheaper.

Sned one of those over to me, I just had a grave tragedy. I hadn't been to this McD's in a while. I was shocked to discover when I got there that they had raised all the prices. McDoubles were 1.29, dbl cheeseburgers were 1.49, even the apple pies were more expensive. I understand that they're downtown in one of the largest cities in America, but they had always been a low-cost provider of meat anyway. But this is the sort of nonsense up with which I shall not put.

Also, because it's snowing all afternoon, I'm skipping the gym this evening.

The confluence of those factors meant I only had one McQuad.

Yep, that's what it comes out to. Whey is a convenience food and good when you want only additional protein. Otherwise, it's not a thrifty choice.
