did triples instead of sets of 5 today just because I wanted to and 3 is closer to 1 than 5 and i'll be doing singles at the meet...
last rep of each set split jerked. everything felt pretty solid. only thing I have to remember is to spread my feet a little wider when I split jerk because I was feeling a bit unstable. took videos of some of the sets, albeit from a pretty shitty angle.
press could have been much better if I took the time to stretch my hip flexors before going to the gym. regardless I need to reread the press chapter because I have no idea where the elbows and wrists should be.
had lots of fun. for the first two sessions I was a loader. it was a pretty small meet, probably only 35 people in total showed up. I was the only one in the 94kg weight class so I got a first place trophy. woohoo.
started warming up for the snatch and my coach told me it looked really good. only things I really need to work on are keeping chest up, making the 1st pull more smooth and controlled, and staying over the bar longer. the last one especially, since I have a tendency to stand up too fast. forgot the weights I warmed up with, I just did what my coach told me to do. first attempt was 45, second was 50, third was 55. all power snatched. made all three with 9 white lights. felt hard but looked easy on video. everyone was telling me I was good for at least 65.
I didn't do as well in the clean and jerk. my jerk was kinda weird today, a lot less powerful than on Friday and just awkward in general. first attempt was 65, three whites. second was 72, three whites again but the jerk was pretty tough, stumbled a bit. third was 77. power clean was pretty solid, but there was a slight press-out. 2 reds and a white, I didn't get the lift.
