    i wrote everything in my notebook but forgot to update this log

    Tuesday: wrestling practice

    Wednesday: wrestling practice in the morning, lifting in the evening:

    bench: 45x5, 95x3, 105x5, 115x5, 125x5, 135x5, 145x5

    wrestling practice was extended to the end of the month, but i'm going on vacation for a week on Tuesday so fuck.

    missed Friday's workout

    tried snatching, failed

    power cleans were ok. 50 was pretty shitty and so was 55. I power jerked the last rep of each set.

    press was tough. felt too loose.

    squats were tough too. 245 was really slow. too slow.

    i'll most likely be competing in a weightlifting competition this sunday.

    warmup: snatch drills, power cleans, front squats, OH squats, and press with the bar

    power clean: 30x5, 35x3, 40x3, 45x3, 50x3, 52.5x3, 55x3, 57.5x3, 60x3
    press: 45x5, 65x3, 95x5, 105x5, 115x5, 125x5, 135x2
    squat: 45x5x2, 95x5, 135x5, 165x5, 195x5, 225x5, 255x5-->135x10

    did triples instead of sets of 5 today just because I wanted to and 3 is closer to 1 than 5 and i'll be doing singles at the meet...
    last rep of each set split jerked. everything felt pretty solid. only thing I have to remember is to spread my feet a little wider when I split jerk because I was feeling a bit unstable. took videos of some of the sets, albeit from a pretty shitty angle.

    press could have been much better if I took the time to stretch my hip flexors before going to the gym. regardless I need to reread the press chapter because I have no idea where the elbows and wrists should be.

    squats were ok.

    had lots of fun. for the first two sessions I was a loader. it was a pretty small meet, probably only 35 people in total showed up. I was the only one in the 94kg weight class so I got a first place trophy. woohoo.

    started warming up for the snatch and my coach told me it looked really good. only things I really need to work on are keeping chest up, making the 1st pull more smooth and controlled, and staying over the bar longer. the last one especially, since I have a tendency to stand up too fast. forgot the weights I warmed up with, I just did what my coach told me to do. first attempt was 45, second was 50, third was 55. all power snatched. made all three with 9 white lights. felt hard but looked easy on video. everyone was telling me I was good for at least 65.

    I didn't do as well in the clean and jerk. my jerk was kinda weird today, a lot less powerful than on Friday and just awkward in general. first attempt was 65, three whites. second was 72, three whites again but the jerk was pretty tough, stumbled a bit. third was 77. power clean was pretty solid, but there was a slight press-out. 2 reds and a white, I didn't get the lift.

    went to Lost Battalion Hall

    did some drills for the clean and high bar squat and then I low bar squatted 100kg for 3x5

    i'll probably go to my normal gym tomorrow then LBH again on Thursday
