    Default Getting fat

    Hey

So i was on first Stronglifts and then switched to SS, but recently took a 2 month "break" because of exams and a vacation following that.
I'm back at it again, 4th week and my lifts as of today are:

    Squat: 87,5 kg (193 lbs)
    Deadlift: 105 kg (231)
    Bench Press: 53,5 kg (118)
    Overhead Press: 36 kg (79)
    Power Clean: 42,5 kg (94)

My PR 3x5 squat is 97,5 before i took the break. I'm climbing back up there, but dammit it's hard!
    Deadlifts are doing okay.
Bench Press and Overhead Press are tough since i had rotator cuff surgery 1,5 years ago, so i'm increasing by 1,25 kg (2,5) instead of the normal 2,5 kg (5).
Power Clean is doing great, love that exercise as opposed to barbell row that i used to do.

That's my info. My problem is that eating a lot to keep up with the program has gotten me a nice little belly. I wasn't skinny to start with (just "normal"), so that doesn't help either.
I've gained a lot of muscle too, and i think you really notice it, but I've grown from a size 32" in jeans/pants to 36", which is some i had lying around from way back, when i was a little fat.
I think it's getting a little out of hand; don't wanna get an entire new wardrobe, or in general just look fat.

I hadn't considered GOMAD until recently, when i realized the Weight Gainer i was using, was way too expensive. It's called Mutant Mass (seems like i can't post links)
    I did 2 servings = 8 scoops a day = 2100 kcal.

My question is, if the somewhat big amount of sugar in this weight gainer could have caused this annoying fat gain, or if the same would have happened with milk (i realize it's mainly about calories, but still)?

Also, what are my options now, if i wanna be able to use my "old" / "normal" clothes again?
Do i have to give up gaining strength for a while to cut away some of this fat, and just try to maintain strength?

I guess i should still be rolling on some newbie gains, so that's why i'm not sure of how this is gonna work.

    Thanks in advance

    Rasmus

How old are you? How much do you weigh? How tall are you? Use lbs, ft, and inches. Dumb Texan here. Sorry

21 years (22 soon). Don't have a scale atm (getting on asap), but i'm guessing around 200 lbs. I'm 6'3" tall.

I think the main problem is bloating. I don't really look or feel that fat in the morning when looking in the mirror.
But then my stomach grows to triple size or something during the day..

I think it's the whole milk, as i never used to drink milk before.
I've eaten yoghurt for breakfast for a long time and used skim milk on cereal - so don't think im lactose intolerant?

Maybe it just takes some time getting used to the whole milk!?
I'm only planning on doing a half GOMAD.

Sometimes milk makes us fat. However you are 6'3 and 200 lbs.......I'm 5'4 and about 225.......I doubt you are as fat as you say.

I'm not a nutrition guru but you might experiment with a lower fat diet that is high in protein and moderate in carbs. Use rice as your main carb source. That might work better for you

Guess fat might have been the wrong word.

If i'm wearing clothes you don't notice it at all. I just have a little too much fat on my belly and waist.
After working out, i can even see the "two upper abs" (if that makes sense) if i flex.

So i don't know if i'm overreacting, and that this is the normal little fat gain that you can't help but get, when you're in energy surplus to put on muscle?

As for the nutrition, i don't feel like i eat that much fat - except for the milk, where i'm still only at about 1/3 GOMAD. I eat close to 200g of protein.
My main carb source is whole grain pasta, which actually has a nice 12g protein pr. 100g. So shouldn't that be just as good as rice?

I think you are being a girl about your physique. And no, the whole grain pasta is not the same as the rice

Get your lifts up and any fat around your midsection will be the last thing people notice. Stop with the weight gainer crap and eat real food.
