mattress recommendations?

Agree they are great. I sleep better on ours than I ever did on our $3k Sterns and Fosters.

But the "guarantee" on any mattress is generally not worth much as they are generally for a new mattress of the same brand and only good if you also purchase the box (which is a hyoooooge waste of money if you already have a good box spring, as they really never wear out).

Hmmm...I wonder if that might be the problem as well. We have a platform bed that I might need to reinforce like I did with the platform bed in the spare bedroom. I'm going to swap mattresses and sleep in the master bedroom on the weekend to see if it's the mattress or the box spring the came with the bed. If it's the mattress, I'll start researching the Temperpedic ones.

Have a latex foam mattress that does wonders (like Tempurpedic but no name brand)

Then I've been sabotaged by the forces of tyranny. I bought a memory foam pillow not too long ago. It was awesome the first month, but now it's like a lump of plastic rather than foam.

Another vote for Tempurpedic. It took a few weeks or so to adjust, but once I got used to the feeling of even pressure I was hooked. I've had mine about 12 years now, no sign of it wearing out. Money well spent.

Well because my better half and I can't agree on the firmness of the mattress we went with another SleepNumber bed. Fits since I like to set mine on 100 and she likes it around 50. After my wife added in all the accessories (including new pillows) I felt like I could barely walk out of the store.

Was it Tempurpedic or another brand? The pillows don't last as long as the mattresses but they should last a few years. They get softer over time. I love the neck pillow. When it gets too soft it doesn't provide enough support and should be replaced. I also have the regular shape pillow. They have several shapes and constructions of pillows.

I think it was Sealy (the one with the sheep) from Sam's Club.
