Awesome advice, as usual man. Thanks!

455 was easy today. I also got 475 in the gym without much problem. I was pretty surprised since it was over 2 hours into my session by the time I got to deadlifts.

Hell, I may go for 500 on my 3rd attempt!

It was pretty tough wrapping my knees for the first time today, too.

If you have any, would you mind posting some comments about the rest of my mock meet today either here or in my log? I think I need to be a little more conservative on my bench.

Bench always sucks ass when you convert to a long pause. 255 was clean, but the 275 probably wouldve got redlighted in a NASA meet.

Is this your first meet??? Answer in my forum, I'll forget to come back over here.
Yep, first meet. I'm lucky to have had some members of this board push me to do this one when I thought I wasn't ready yet. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your input. I'm following your advice to the letter.

So before my mock meet, my planned attempts were:
    Squat - 370/390/410
    Bench - 255/270/285
    DL - 425/450/475

    Now I'm thinking:
    Squat - 380/405/425?(based off how 2nd felt)
Bench - 255/265/270 or 275 (I'm not sure about this)
    DL - 455/485/500

My ultimate wish would be a 1200 total.

Those numbers seem reasonable. Your goal for your first meet should be to go 9 for 9....even if they aren't HUGE PR's. Just get comfortable with the whole set up, the timing, the environment, etc etc. Be conservative on your first bench attempt. It will be very different than in the gym, although I think 255 should be fine. Maybe hedge with 245 or so??

Don't stress about this one. Don't worry about totals or what your competition is doing. This is a learning experience.

    Just my opinion.

I just read your meet prep article from 2010 for the first time the other day. Okay, I see what you mean on the 9 for 9 goal, and I'll be a little more conservative on the bench especially. It's hard not to get greedy when that 1200 total is so close though.

Well.....at least don't bomb out on the first attempt

I agree with Andy, Steve. I think you can probably get the 275 in competition with a lift off and the extra adrenaline, but open lighter. You certainly shouldn't have any intention of your 1st attempt counting towards your total so don't waste effort on making it hard. I would probably go 245/265/275.

Okay, sounds good. 245/265/275 for bench it is.

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but in light of going easier on the 1st attempt, maybe I should go lighter on my squat opener? I bumped it up to 380 from my original 370. I'll be working up to openers this Saturday.

    In summary:
    370/405/425
    245/265/275
    455/485/500

    .
    .
    .

On a side note, I weighed in at 188 this morning without even trying. Probably due to the long sessions. That will be good for my coefficient :-)
