I have been contacted by Eleiko Sport USA. Rachel Crass kindly put them in touch with me, and after being apprised of the situation with my bent Eleiko bar, they have offered to replace it. After more than a decade and a change in ownership of the company. I think that is pretty damn good customer service. I'll let you know when it gets here.

My gym has recently got Ivanko bars and after using one yesterday for squats and presses I think I much prefer it to the Eleiko ones.

Are they the bare steel ones? How is the knurling compared to others (coarse like the Texas Power bars)?

Not quite sure what you mean by bare steel, but they're black coated and have lots of different rings on them, presumably to signify different grip widths. I've never used a Texas Power bar but the knurling isn't nearly as bad as the Eleiko bars, which feel more like files to be honest.

Ivanko bars are made from decent steel, but I don't like the black oxide coating, and the knurling pattern is a disaster, with meaningless score marks and the flat part in the middle too narrow to use for pulls from the floor.

I think I've probably said this before but, there are a couple of Ivanko bars in the gym I go to - And what Ivanko has basically done, is ruin a decent bar with their stupid idea of a knurling.

Glad to help, Mark. It's nice that things finally seem to be working themselves out with that whole mess. Definitely keep us posted on it!
