Just an FYI, this board, and pretty much any board related to strength training and/or bodybuilding, has some degree of self-selection for men that like man-like women.

So you're certainly not going to get any answer on here, re: typical male preferences for certain female body types, that is at all reflective of the modal preferences of Western males.

The modal (and you should probably google "modal") preferences of the male for female body types runs towards those women with the obvious secondary sexual characteristics of the female of the species, while lacking the obvious secondary sexual characteristics of the male of the species. BTW it might be worth googling "secondary sexual characteristics" as well.

One fascinating thing about "beauty", and I believe OKCupid had a blog post about this, is that the more deviation a woman has from "conventional" beauty, the more (1) divided people were about her, and (2) the more messages she got from those that were fans of her type, i.e. those that were attracted were REALLY attracted.

That's part of the context, but not all of it. Another part of the context was that the "universally hot" girls got less messages than the "niche hot" girls because the "niche hot" girls' fans were very rabid fans.

While the "girl with the dragon tatoo" is a fugly look to most users, there is a small subgroup to which she is God's Gift, so those in her "niche" message the hell out of her and she gets lots of attention.

This is how it is here with the women that have many male secondary sexual characteristics; lots of strength-training men are in the subgroup that like those women, so boards like this "upvote" them while the modal response in the general population is (cue bad British accent) "That's a MAN, Ba-by!"

The cheerleader thread from a while back is a good example. Mainstream most guys were like "ugg" and most girls would rather have 58 zits than have that much muscle, but here there was a lot of "would hit that" commentary.
