Just curious to see what some of the guys on this board think...Rippetoe obviously preaches them as vital, but I'm curious if other guys have either 1) noticed that they really help or 2) dropped/replaced them without any adverse consequences.
Not talking about while running SS, by the way...more along the lines of intermediate programming.

the reason for this is that i can't deadlift in triples week by week now, cos it's getting to heavy on my body
