Not sure what you mean?

They have small hands, they use the hook grip, they're also cleaning close to what you deadlift. Just trying to put it in perspective, not put you down. I thought i had hands that were too small for hooking, then i ran into a female weightlifter at the oly gym at school, changed my perspective quite a bit.
(p.s. i realize their bar isnt as big)
MY modified sumo stance is I set my knees RIGHT outside my hands, with my arms hanging directly down from my shoulders—my hands are actually ½ on knurl and ½ off knurl (keep in mind, my definition may not be Webster’s definition)--everything else is similar to set up for traditional DL
I like this stance, my back angle is VERY close to when I was traditional DL so for me it works
(I want to say (but don’t quote me) Ed Coan did/does something similar (once again, if I am wrong I apologize))
Hope this helps.
Try the hook grip with some chalk. See how it works for you.
Well I used straps today and also used the opposite grip of right under left over hand. I think the previous session was just a flexibility issue but don't understand why it only happened at heavier weight.
With straps an a little less so with mixed grip, I feel like the bar is floating infront of me and not making contact with my legs till the top. If I pull in with my lats it feels harder to stay in thoracic extension. Is this ok? If I sit back more ill fall over or have to lower my hips more.
I will try and post a video next time, today no one was at the gym.
I think Deadlifting has become my new favorite lift.
The underhand part stresses the biceps - people sometimes tear their biceps while deadlifting. This is covered in the book. You should alternate which hand gets pronated when deadlifting because of the asymmetric stress.
Post a video.. bar should be in contact with legs all the way up. I get the best starting position when I squeeze my lats together hard and let the feeling transfer down to my lumbar spine. It's out of the book
