Norway is not as cold now hihi but you don't know when snow is coming or the rain.

It will only be allowed for me to join Starting Strength Seminar in summertime

Hey, we have had rain over the last three days. There might be a hint of green on the way to Wichita Falls.

I stayed at the HoJo in Wichita Falls last weekend for the SS Seminar. I don't know if it was a one off bad experience, but the room was AWFUL.

They put me in 261, which was not in the main atrium area. There was water stains on the walls and ceilings, the walls and bathroom were extremely dirty, the bed sheets had been written on with sharpie marker, the phone didn't work, the TV remote didn't work, 4 tiles were completely missing from the shower, and the shower drain lever was completely rusted off and half dangling into the tub.

I asked to me moved to a different room Friday afternoon, but I was told they were sold out due to a square dancing event at the hotel and had no available rooms.

I just sucked it up until I was finished with Friday night and I went to take a shower and 4 roaches crawled out when I turned on the bathroom light.

I checked out that night and went down the road to the Super 8. I got a totally clean and comfortable room for $63 a night instead of $52.

In their defense, the lady did apologize and didn't charge me anything at checkout. I had pictures on my phone of everything. I don't know if it was just because they were so busy and they stuck me in rooms they don't normally use?

Hopefully I'm not coming off as Mr. Ritz Carlton, but it was pretty gross.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience Jeff. I'll contact the hotel manager today and let him know. Could you pm me your e-mail in case he wants to get a hold of you? If anyone else had a situation like Jeff's please let me know.

All, we will no longer be recommending the Howard Johnson's hotel in Wichita Falls. The lack of acceptable accommodations and lack of follow up makes for an unpleasant stay for the majority of you. I will update local hotels on the sticky and you all can go from there when visiting town.

I recommend the Econo Lodge. It's closer to WFAC than what HOJO is and although it's not the best place to stay, minus the wireless internet, I enjoyed the stay.

Maybe you (jp) can contact them and workout a deal. (If not, PM me and I'll see if I can get the hook up I did.)

Thanks Whities. There's actually a lot of affordable places to stay in WF. We've also reserved blocks of rooms for events in the past at the Days Inn and Baymont which happen to run a little higher but is just down from the gym. Chances are high that we'll be doing that again.

The good news is that there really are so many choices in WF that it's rare if you can't find what you're looking for. The better news is that cockroaches crawling out of your shower do not need to be a normal event.
