At first the OHP and power clean were the two I didnt like the most, probably because of the much lower weights used. Now I find the OHP makes me feel the most like a beast, and power cleans are just plain a blasty blast of fun. I seem to be getting much better at both too, because I notice a lot of people with better lifts on this site have a lower OHP. Mine is Not even close to stalling. Keep on going bro you log is fun to read! Be careful not to hulk smash out of them stitches

155x5x3 Work Set - I like this exercise . .the weight that I am pushing I can tell that I am getting stronger . .that each time performing this exercise in LP is making me a bit stronger . .I know
    . . .
There's just something about pushing the bar up towards the lights. You know why it really separates the men from the bros? It's fucking hard! There's no dodging around a rep like on a 1/4 squat or a bounced bench. Putting that weight over head is hard and it's cool as can be.

That is it. You captured it perfectly. You can not half step on this lift. Do it wrong....you are fucking your back or shoulder...what other option do you have? Push it just past your forehead? You either nut up or shut up with this thing. This lift makes hair grow on my back.

    07/25/2012 Workout B Wednesday

    Squat
    45x5x2
    65x5
    95x3
    115x2
    155x5x3 Work Set

2 min rests. Still recuperating from an extremely "libatious" weekend . . but I am back in to the swing of things. Get my stitches out tomorrow. Still getting used to squatting in my ROgues but I do like them. Lifting in the garage with my own equipment and my kids coming and going is awesome. It is hot, I get my music . .(which usually is "Mike and Mike in the Morning") but it is still mine . . lol.

    OHP
    45x5x2
    70x5
    100x3
    125x2
    160x5x3 Work Set

I love this lift. This lift more than any other makes me feel like I am moving some shit . . .Hell, yeah

    Deadlift
    135x5
    170x3
    245x2
    325x5 Work Set

Deadlifts went up quick and with good form. I reset between each pull - just a matter of a second or two - because I feel like I explode through the floor when I go through my cues. I dig it . . someday I may do speed work . .but I like the pace I go and I can see it taking me upwards of 600 lbs. While I like this lift a whole lot - - it almost feels second nature to me - - I still am all about that Press . . .that is going to be my lift.

Time to eat, sleep and recover . . .nice

Went to have the stitches removed from my incision areas. Ortho guys says all looks good and does not need to see me again unless I blow out the hardware in the other leg. While removing the stitches he says to me, "And as I directed your wife - -I want you to abstain from lifting weight for an additional 4 weeks . .then you can start out slow" . .I just grinned and shook my head . . . knowing that I started to lift 2 days after the surgery and will certainly not stop again as long as I can stand . . .he has his ways, I have mine. If I would have followed his advice and the physical therapists advice I would still be using a cane right now and doing nothing more strenous than a seated cardio machine. Fortunately my way was scratching and clawing along . . .until I found SS and Rip . . . I like my way better . .

    Brian,

I think you owe it to the doctor to let him know what your rehab has been like... but give it another month or two so he can see that all is going well.

He might or might not learn something from this story, but he deserves to hve the information either way. This way, you might be helping the doctor advise a future patient more wisely.

Just don't get your hopes up - I used to have recurring foot injuries (soft tissue only - nothing gruesome like yours, but annoying enough and limiting my ability to lay soccer), and the specialist my PCP sent me to told me that I have to wear arch supports for the rest of my life. Cause I'm just getting old (at 41) and there will be no improvement - just things going downhill.

I left the office and went the opposite way - bought myself a pair of Vibrams and chucked the "supportive" running shoes away. As a result, I strenghtened my feet and never had a foot injury since.

A couple of years later, I was talking to my PCP and told her the story. Her jaw dropped at my "audacity" and she wondered aloud why did I go against the specialist's advice. I spent 5 minutes explaining my case, showing her the reasoning behind my choices and the results.

A year later, the PCP sent my wife to the same specialist for a foot injury - sorry, no happy ending here. Except that my wife also ignored the specialist's advice... I made sure of that.

I think the biggest thing is feeling as if you are in control of what happens to you. I had no control when I fell from the roof. This allows me to actively push during that short time frame of recovery . . .man, I am so far ahead of what we thought my future was going to be that it is all icing. We'll see what happens..

    Workout - Training A - 07/27/2012

    SQUAT
    45x5x2
    65x5
    95x3
    125x2
    160x5x3

I could probably add 60 to 70 lbs on this Squat right now - - it is super light and goes up easy - - -I know that my form is solid -- -but I have to watch with the recent removal of the hardware - -got to let those holes and bones get acclimated . .etc . . . so I will keep on trucking at my regular pace - - -feels good - -I got a lifetime

    Bench
    45x5x2
    75x5
    125x3
    165x2
    210x5x3 New PR

    Row
    135x5
    160x2
    200X5x3 5 -5 - 0

The Row - - I think I am going to back off the Row by about 10% - - I am finding that at this weight - I am cheating - -working more with my arms - curling my wrists - raising up a bit - - -I could have pulled the last 5, but I thought I felt a small tweak in my right shoulder . .that coupled wtih knowing that my form was shit - -I decided to let that White Whale swim away . . .go back - -restock my ship - - -chase after him again . . .rather do that than rip my nutsack or something . .. . . DOH!
