Default Best burger you'll ever have

If any of you are ever in Ann Arbor, Michigan, I highly recommend a trip to Blimpy Burger. Just got one a few days ago after a 9 year hiatus. This one was 6 patties, a fried egg, cheese, tomatolettuceonionpickle, and mayo. Damn delicious!

Wow, that looks great. Has anyone ever had a Shake Shack burger? They are opening near my work in Philly soon. I think they were only open in Maryland and NY before this.

Ha, the missus is from Plymouth and had really wanted to take me there over thanksgiving, but no one could face it after the gorging we did on the Thursday. We went to Zingerman's for lunch instead and, after the 2 hour wait to get in through the door, I dont think we saved any calories as a result.

Shake Shack never did anything much for me - I always thought it was one of those things that became fetishized in New York without real merit. Back in the day, it tasted like a backyard grilled burger, which is of course delicious, but not worth the massive wait and hype.

Now that the operation is franchised, the quality is down even more.

Ah, gotcha. That sucks. Ill definitely still give it a shot, but now I know not to get my hopes up too high.

Oh man, you missed out. Zingerman's is awesome, but there's just something about those burgers that can't be duplicated. Funny, the reason I went there was because I was traveling to Plymouth for business. I convinced my coworkers to take a detour to AA just for a burger!

Wow, I lived in Ann Arbor for several years and missed out on Blimpy Burger. I've been to Zingerman's several times, though, and the sandwiches are awesome.

Sorry, no chain is going to beat the burger I had a Craigie on Main in Cambridge. Dry-aged beef seasoned to perfection with top-end, hand-made condiments and a beautiful and fresh brioche roll. Nope. Not gonna happen.

Ha. We're heading back there later this summer I will not allow us to come home without a blimpy burger trip.

Nothing beats a trip to Nifty-Fifties for this style of burger(Milkshakes are the true star). Starr also has a place in Franklin Square which is meant to mirror Shake Shack. I guess we'll see how they compare.
