As a graduate of U of M, I've had my share of Blimpy burgers. I always loved when someone had a $2 bill or a Susan B. Anthony dollar because you knew that they had gone to Blimpy Burger. As much as I like Blimby's, I think Sidetrack's in Ypsi might be better.

And that pic is false advertising. You know you only get that shit for 2 months a year.
As someone who was born and raised a little north of Traverse City, I can tell you that you are missing the point. The beauty of northern Michigan is the changing seasons. We have the best Falls of anywhere in the country (and I've been to Vermont in the Fall). We have all the fun of the winterwonderland. Our Springs our pretty mild, and great for hunting morels. The hunting is excellent, you are never more than 5 miles from a major body of water (2 miles in the northern Lower). The summer on Lake Michigan is great, with miles of sandy beaches. I lived in Florida for the last 6 years. You can't stand hanging out on the beaches there in the summer, and it definitely still too hot at sundown to roast marshmallows. I now live in Colorado, which is great, but doesn't have nearly the variety of activities available (due in great part by the scarcity of water).

Anyways, I really want to try this place, but unfortunately living on the Jersey side it wouldn't really be worth it for me to drive in to the city for Shake Shack. There is a Bobby's Burger Palace near me though, I've been meaning to try that.

On another note, I recently made some Juicy Lucys at home. Those were on point.
Definitely go to Bobby's Burger Palace. Their burgers are incredible.

Most over-hyped burger: In and Out.

Best burger: The ChuckBox (mesquite grilled burgers) old place part of ASU campus since before my dad went there (in the 70's)

    Continuing off topic Michigan talk:

Went camping with a friend up in Northern Michigan recently, my first time there. I really liked it. The nature and land was pretty cool. Fishing was awesome. We drove to 3 different lakes in a day, all very close. And the community was really cool. Don't know if that's how it is everywhere up there, but at least where we were it had a good feel. Oh and it was cool how almost every damn garage (that I saw open while driving) had some kind of woodworking or other useful tools in it.

It was funny/strange how many of the yards out there are full of junk. People would have like 20 cars just hanging out, a couple busted campers, a thousand lawn chairs, and maybe some heavy machinery.

Except the dude who we got our fishing licenses from was a sham and wouldn't give us the military price (normally $1, throughout the state) because we didn't have "leave papers" since its all electronic nowadays anyway. Plus I wasn't even on leave lol.

On topic: Best burger I ever had was at a place called McGuire's in Pensacola.

This can't be exclusively a Northern Michigan thing, can it?

What City(s) and Lakes did you go to?

It probably isn't. I think there were similar things going on in the rural parts of Ohio. I'm just not used to seeing it haha.

East Jordan was the town we were closest to, and I can't remember all the lakes we went to, but I think Charlevoix was one of them.

If your willing to spend $60 bucks on a burger ( which I've only done once) there's a place in St Louis at Lumiere Casinos Burger Bar that's makes a Kobe beef burger with truffles on it. I had to try it once and it was amazing. Can't afford to do it again but ohh well
