Thread: Worst sport biomechanically

    Default Worst sport biomechanically

What is the worst sport in terms of moving in ways the human body is intended to move? Think load, asymmetry, repetition etc.

    I vote for Golf.

Pitching a baseball seems pretty brutal. Almost no pitcher makes it through a career without arm problems.

Racquetball is pretty rough. Especially when running for the ball and trying to stop your body before you hit the wall.

Pitching does seem to be universally craptacular.

Football seems to fuck people up pretty badly.

I see what you are driving at but arguably you could go for swimming.

And i mean that purely from the sense that we evolved as long distance runners not swimmers. I know we look all glidy in the water and its actually great exercise (except for shoulder impingement), we are hella' inefficient when it comes to swimming, even compared to bears.

Bullriding can't be good for the body.

    That doesn't sound right.

Whitewater kayaking might be the worst. Bad for the shoulders, your feet feel like a Geisha's when you get out of the boat (i.e., broken and bound), and you look unnatural as a half-man, half-boat.

This obviously isn't good for you:
