Default Training legs with no gym

I've been following SS for 6 months now and really enjoying the progress, however I'm about to go traveling for a year which I'm obviously looking forward to but I can't see how I'll be able to train legs with just bodyweight exercises. Would really like the last 6 months of squats not to have been in vain (I'm up to 1.5xBW for 3x5). Any ideas guys?

    Some suggestions:

1 ) Find random heavy stuff you can pick up and squat with (a big rock, or make a sandbag, for example).

    2 ) Learn to do 1-leg squats.

3 ) Work on explosive leg strength, like high jumps or sprints.

Depending on exercise difficulty, you may have to go for higher reps. Your 1RM might take a hit, but you can always get back lost progress later on when you have regular gym access again.

Buy some Kettlebells. Double Kettlebell Front Squats are Brutal.

Why can't you join a gym when you're traveling? How long are you going to be in each place for? You could maybe pay a day rate at a gym 1x per week to squat if you're bouncing around to different places too much to join a gym. Or join a chain gym.

All kinds of bounding, jumping and complexes like the humble burpee.

Walking lunges with a heavy sack across shoulders.

    Dragging/pushing stuff.

    Hill sprints.

This stuff wont do the same to your legs as squats, but it will maintain some good usable strength & explosivenes.

Do what you can, but don't ruin what could be one of the best years of your life trying to keep 6 months of progress... you can always worry about it when you get back.

Just take a bag and fill it with heavy shit. Hold the bag and perform 1-legged squats. You can also get someone to climb on your back and squat with that person. You can also see about rigging up something for natural GHRs, but idk how successful that would turn out.

And it can be tax deductible if you are traveling for work.

Don't fuck your knees up with one legged squats.

Grab random things (friends of random weights) and squat them.
