Default SS 2nd vs 3rd Edition

In the 2nd edition it goes like this:

    A
    3x5 Squat
    3x5 Bench Press
    1x5 Deadlift

    B
    3x5 Squat
    3x5 Press
    5x3 Power Cleans

When I read the 3rd edition it's this:

    A
    3x5 Squat
    3x5 Press
    1x5 Deadlift

    B
    3x5 Squat
    3x5 Bench Press
    5x3 Power Cleans

Why the switch? I'm currently doing the 3rd edition. Does it matter which one I do?

    Absolutely no difference whatsoever.

I like the third edition version better.. in the 2nd edition, it feels like all the really heavy lifts (in terms of weight on the bar, not difficulty) are on the same day, and the more technical lifts are on the other day. This way mixes it up and evens out the tonnage I think.. too lazy to do math

I wondered this, too. I'm surprised no reasons were given

I'd guessed what you guys are saying about the heavier lifts on the same day but it'd be nice to have it confirmed

Guys.....it doesn't fucking matter. Press or bench on either day.

Holy hell. Was this really posted? *shakes head*

(I understand if you don't post this but, this is freaking hilarious. I'm going to link to the "Say this in a Gym today" thread.)
