    Default Swim's Deadlift Form Check

Never had a form check on my deadlift before. I am 37 and weigh about 210. Been running TM. This is my 350lbs 5RM set starting at about 49 secs. There are a couple of warm up sets leading up to the 5RM and a subsequent back off set of 12 after.

    Thanks for your comments.

Did you notice that you occasionally shove the bar around with your shins during your set up? Stop doing that. Put the bar over the middle of your foot, take your grip, put your shins to the bar. DON'T MOVE THE BAR. Then set your back and pull. Getting rid of all the monkey motion will make your pull more consistent.

Proper set-up method is detailed HERE.

Are you talking about how the bar moves forward a few millimeters when I begin the pull? If so, I hadn't noticed that until you pointed it out. My hips and shoulders appear to be coming up at the same rate initially. So, in your opinion, is the bar moving forward because it looks like I am attempting to get more leverage by dropping my hips vs squeezing my chest up?

I at least attempt to follow the proper set-up method religiously, however this is the first time I have actually captured my deads on vid. So for the first time I am seeing the disparity between what I think is happening during the pull vs what is actually happening.

Sure there is some little things you can fix, but overall they look damn fine.

Thanks for the boost of confidence samGwin and Steve. Training alone sometimes makes me start over-thinking and second-guessing things which serves only to confuse and reduce confidence.
