Default lets talk about concealed carry

Does anyone on the board carry concealed (CC)?

I'm getting a permit (Virginia) and will carry a Ruger SP101 .357 5 shot with a 3" barrel and external hammer.

What do you carry? when do you carry and what do you carry it in?

And my apologies to residents of Illinois or DC

I'd love to CC, the problem is a live in a country (Canada) that has criminalized effective self defense. I can't even carry pepper spray.

Amen. Living in one of the safest countries in the world, if I had a dollar for every time I wish I was packing heat here in Canada, I'd have...zero dollars.

My country has foolishly banned firearms from being owned by civilians. When you do get your CCW permit be sure to always have your weapon on you. Learn to use it, exercise caution, and avoid problems or confrontations as much as humanely possible.

What does that have to do with being armed for self defense when and/or if such a need were to arise?

Crime occurs everywhere, leaving the law-abiding citizen defenseless to criminals is reprehensible. Banning firearms/pepper spray/etc only serves to restrict their use by lawful citizens, criminals don't follow the law anyhow and thus don't give a ratsass. They'd prefer it if articles of self-defense were banned as they'd be the only ones in possession of said items.

Wow, I've never heard this argument before.

We don't ban firearms, just conceal carry. We actually have some of the highest rates of gun ownership in the world.

Firearms are not easy to get where i live and i'm not sure i would buy one if i could, but when i'm en route somewhere "dangerous" i take stuff like pepper spray or a baton with me. It's not allowed, but the reality is what has been written before, the bad guys don't care if it`s illegal.
But usually nothing serious happens where i live and i'm pretty happy with it.

Being lumped into the same boat as the residents of DC offends me.

Sadly, as an IL resident, it's true .

I've had a CWP for 32 years. Over the years I've packed just about everything. But for the last decade or so its been a Colt Officers Model, .45 acp, in an El Paso Saddlery 'High Slide" http://www.epsaddlery.com/pc-149-20-high-slide.aspx

If I want even more concealment I go with Galco's 'King Tuk' inside the waistband holster. http://www.amazon.com/Galco-Kingtuk-...galco+king+tuk
