    Default Wanting to DTP

    25 y/o male, 5'11.5, 210 lbs

    Squat: 95-220 (two form resets)
    Bench: 100-187.5
    Press: 65-117.5
    Deadlift: 115-235 (one form reset)
PC: 75 (just starting doing them)

I have been doing a linear progression from the book FIT. I squat twice a week (M and F), deadlift and power clean on Wendesday, alternate bench and press, and do chins on Monday. Through the advice of the SS forum, I should start DTP. If I am conditioned/accustomed to squatting twice a week, I am concerned about the extra fatigue of that extra squatting workout. Would it be wise to back off a little on my squat weight and ramp back up on a 3 day squat week? Also, would it be wise to do the same on deadlifts, as I would be doing them more often?

I wouldn't back off unless your training forces you to do so.

How much conditioning are you doing?

I'm not doing any conditioning. I would like to start doing some conditioning because of the extra fat gain, but everytime I try to do a litte, I get stuck on my weights.

Ok. I have not read FIT but was under the impression that most of the routines included alot of conditioning. My mistake.

If you run the true blue SS program then I would limit or eliminate your conditioning at first, and focus on getting your lifting in order. If you are getting too fat then we need to look at cleaning up the diet a little bit.
