I'm thinking so. Fish and vegetables. Sometimes there is rice but it plays a secondary role. Other thoughts?

Sugar in the rice.
Toxins from the ocean in the seaweed. Glutens in the soy sauce. You'll probably die.
yes, mostly.
no to the newer/trendy stuff like "dynamite shrimp avocado tempura battered tuna" rolls
Proper sashimi, yes. Yo! Sushi, probably not.
Jamie is right in that the main consideration is the rice. But paleo doesn't bar "sugar" in particular or even carbs more generally -- it's just good sense to keep an eye on how much of it you're taking in. But you have to know that a big chunk of sushi rice is going to spike the shit out of your blood sugar, which can be a perfectly fine and even desirable thing in some instances, so just keep it in mind. But sushi is so mind-bogglingly delicious... it'd be like giving up steak to go without it.
A point of confusion some people have is that sushi rice is sometimes called "glutinous" rice, which sounds a lot like the word "gluten". Since sushi rice is sticky, and gluten makes things stick together, it might make some sense, but it's *not* gluten. So if you're gluten intolerant, you're fine to eat sushi.
Rice is a grain and grain is not paleo. Right?
My impression was white rice doesn't contain any "anti-nutrient" type properties, like wheat/gluten. Flipside is it doesn't have additional benefits (minerals/vitamins) like a potato would.
So, not particularly harmful or helpful.
Nice source of calories if you need to up them (in before carb haters)
This thread is a good example of how retarded paleo is.
