    I used the pistol/orthopedic grip so that I had better control over the sword

    I can't imagine using the french grip again. At my club it was only used by beginners and a few people who found the orthopedic grip uncomfortable

    Its a trade around here, particularly after the floods last year, we prefer the Honda post hole digger to the old crow bar of course. Would not call it fun though.

    I fenced foil for about 6 months, then epee for about a year and a half or so. All at the club level in college. Best I did was a D, but I did well enough against other club teams. My fiance fenced sabre, I still tell people about the time she got a few touches against Mariel Zagunis.
