If I agreed with Dastardly's opinion about squatting, why would I have written three editions of a book specifically describing another type of squat, explaining why it is better, and teaching you how to quit doing it Dastardly's way and start doing it mine?

Road kill eh! But not as good as Wombat though, they take your sump out as well.

If you want to fix your squat your going to have to put the bar lower on your back (the way the book describes).

You misunderstand me. I am TRYING to squat your way. I was lead to believe that my bowl-of-maggots squat was adequate for continuing my progression, while working on form. Clearly, this is not working. You, the expert, have set me straight. FWIW, I started squatting seriously because of your books, not because of random internet information. I can squat more than I ever thought I would, or could, in spite of my crappy form, because of Starting Strength.

High-bar like. I'm too vertical, which makes my knees move forward and kills my hip drive. I need to sit back more and lean over. I was lead to believe that for a high-bar like squat, it's not bad. So enlighten me. That's what this forum is for, right?

"Stockholm Syndrome." Shit. Rip, posting on your forum is like walking in a cow pasture. No matter how careful you are, you either step in shit, or piss off the bull. Or both. At least, it's entertaining.

I often wonder about the negativefeedback guy. I think he's one of these guys that posts up here and then goes down to E&P and talks about everybody being a nuthugger. He's a rugged individualist himself, see.

And the way the video shows. When I squat, the bar rests on my rear delts. See this very short video of me, rear view: http://youtu.be/Nh5djkmoIIg
I don't know how I could get that bar any lower. I've got the elbow tendonitis as it is.

Rip, I'm not trying to be a dick. Nor am I one of those passive-aggressive assholes who posts on E&P in the manner you describe. Your forum is where the big boys play, and I'm trying to play along. I try to do my homework before testing your patience with yet another inane question that has already been answered ad nauseum (YAIQ, if I may). The cow pasture comment is just frustration. My apologies.

I like that you're something of an opinionated curmudgeon, even when I bear the brunt of that. And you are one of the best in the world at strength coaching. Your books and web site are invaluable, and I appreciate them--they have changed my thinking completely about strength training. Which is your point, of course.

I'll save my YAIQs for the other sub forums. Thanks again, Coach.

Shit, I can't believe I missed this quote. Obviously this post is way too late to make it worth approving, but I want you to know I'll happily lead the charge of the next generation of Ripciples. You won't find a more prideful (or better read) nuthugger. With that said, I look forward to enjoying your company at a seminar I just signed up for (can't tell you which one, to prevent a rescheduling).
