I have been giving you a bad time. I sincerely apologize for that. Our differences are political and that in itself is not unique, but we have gotten under each others skin. I'm going to quit baiting you for reasons I communicated to you in a pm earlier this week.

I feel it is incumbent upon me to attempt to make amends and acknowledge my behavior to others who saw what I have said to you. Some things are more important than my political opinions.

seriously- More people should apologize more often- its so much simpler than holding on to stupid pride- and makes disagreements much more productive- which is theoretically what we are after in political discussions.

Thank you, I did not notice I had a PM until I saw this post.

As far as baiting in the Rape thread, I only read the first part of that thread, made my post on it volunteering to pay for the building where you could beat Tosh down, and haven't followed that thread after reading some of the crap that the 'Rape is a funny' assholes are posting, it makes my blood boil...

My first ex-wife (and mother of my son) was raped by some high-school football players while walking home from school when she was 16. That shit fucks a persons head up for life.

I too will try and keep our discussions topical and not personal... I apologize in advance for when I surely fall off that wagon.

Lots of us have serious stories- and it can get serious on a dime- but lets not forget that laughter is medicine. So much of life just sucks shit. I grew up in a family hit by a ton of pain- war, alcoholism, rape, violence. If we didn't have the ability to kid we never would have made it.. and we almost didn't anyway.
Making fun of others pain is cruel, making fun of our own is liberating.
I feel like guys like Hurling get a pass from me on a lot of things- when you see the types of things a cop has to see- instincts are your friend and your enemy.

Several people on this board make my day with their sense of humor- I remember a time when my own desperate attempts to keep adults from killing themselves revolved around finding the most shocking thing to say to make them laugh. Comedians in general are stereotyped this way- I find it apt. As an adult Im grateful I got through some of that shit and now can just enjoy things that at one time were pure de survival mechanisms. Ill always love inappropriate humor.
