Default Regarding the "Iron icons" articles

Would it be possible to ask mr. Gallagher or someone else to write an article about Dave Waddington and/or Lee Moran? I heard of these guys through the "Power unlimited" documentary and they seemed pretty strong.

I think the "iron icons" articles are very interesting and i don´t know of anywhere else where this information is avaliable. Really great idea!

Dave Waddington is a great suggestion for "Iron Icons" and since we're talking about powerlifters who were also strongman competitors, how about Kazmaier for the series? I realize his name is famous but I feel like Kazmaier's powerlifting background is not as well known. I don't want to be presumptuous here because whatever Marty writes is always refreshing and informative, but figured it was worth a shot.

Amazing how many damn strong guys there were hanging around in the 70s and 80s about whom essentially no information exists online or in print.

Rip, did you mention somewhere you knew Luke Iams? He hits some big lifts and cracks a few jokes in the 1980 "World Series of Powerlifting" video on Youtube, competing with big names like Doyle Kenady and Kaz, but there's nothing out there on him. Sure would be cool to hear some war stories, what his training was like, that kind of thing.

I didn't know him, but Marty did. Noted.

Since we're on the subject of little known strength athletes, I read a post on the CnP website about Donald Dinnie today. Don't know if you've ever heard of him Rip, but the man was nothing short of incredible. He once carried two stones weighing 340lb and 445lb, and carried them about 6 feet, at the same time! As well as winning basically ever highland games event he ever entered.

Good right up about him here
