    Default Biceps pain

I had an accident while squatting, I placed the bar a little bit too low that day and with all the sweat the bar slipped even lower, some of the weight ended up to be supported by my arms...I finished my set anyway, doing my best to keep my elbows up....But unfortunately I hurt myself, my left lower biceps is really painful, I can't press, bench press ...and can't even push a door without feeling pain. I take Ibuprofen, but the pain wont go and the strength wont come back either. Have you ever experienced such pain? How can I cure it, besides resting?

    Thanks

Bicep strains are not usually a serious problem. It will start to feel better soon, try to do some passive and light movements with it for a few days. Only attempt anything that will put stress on it again, when it is feeling better.

Ibuprofen in high doses, 3000mg per day. Only if you're sure you don't have kidney problems and only for 5 days. Lay off every exercise that causes any amount of pain for a week. Use light wraps in the area. After a week, try to squat again. If it starts hurting just a bit, stop it and wait a little longer.

Thank you both. Sounds like I still have to rest.

The ibuprofen isn't really necessary I think, but the rest I stand by.

After a week of rest, I tried to squat again, but despite a good arms warm-up, the pain came back instantly after I racked the empty bar...I managed to squat for one set only, I tried to high bar squat, press, clean, pull ups, nothing was possible. But I could deadlift. Since I don't feel I'll gain back strength in my left arm soon, what do you think I could do?
Deadlift, front squats, something else ?
    Thanks

Wait till any strong pain is gone, then lots of passive arm movement, then very low resistance high rep curls (like with a theraband). Basically do the starr rehab on your bicep.

Eventually you will get to a point where the compound lifts do not hurt anymore. In the meantime, do whatever lifts you can without straining it. I am surprised you cannot HB squat. I would be weary of deadlifts, you could tear it if it is already in a fragile state.

Of course the pain is bearable on HB squat, but the problem is I've never HB squat before... It felt awkward,I tried one set with a light weight and accidentally watched down , I had to pull with my arms to prevent the weight to crush me....So I decided not to play with the fire again...
Ok i will give a try to the rebab thing.

    Thank you Dastardly.
