With the amount of lousy coaches and training methods out there being used with high level athletes, it would be very hard to actually make a high level athlete perform poorly. Amongst all of poliquins bullshit, he does still recommend full ROM strength exercises and some sensible mobility ideas. This maybe enough to counter any other horrendous advice.

Your comment made me think of a power clean video I found last night:

That kid is playing football at a shitty school a few hundred miles from Wichita Falls. Rip should recruit him to stop playing football and head up to Midwestern.

Those are some sick videos. Wish I was half as strong as that at that age.

I will leave this for someone much smarter than myself to answer, but if you have an elite level athlete is there a point in which supplementation such as this is beneficial? Do the supplements he recommends do anything? Other than the illegal stuff that actually works and things that work on a much lower level like whey, creatine, FOOD, etc. is the rest just throwing a bunch of crap against a wall and hoping something sticks (i.e. take as many supplements as you can and see if anything improves)?

p.s. I have read a few more articles on his website and while Poliquin does have some crazy ideas, but a lot of his articles seem pretty solid. I was just initially put off by the videos in my original post.

so yes, people really do stuff like this.
Heh, my Grandmother just passed away a year or so ago. She was 98. Others in the family gave her a lot of crap for all the different vitamins she took, somewhere around 75 each day. Funny how so many who laughed at her died in their 50's and 60's. I ain't laughin' but I only take a one a day and some fish oil.....

Charles Poliquin is a bitch. I wonder what people did before his brain supplements were available. Also I love how half of his clients are on steroids.

I guess this guy forgot Poliquin's pharmacy.

Also I am digging Poliquin's waist. Who the fuck has shredded arms and 40 inches waist. WTF Poli?

    Don't overthink

I think that is meaningless. My grandfather died aged 107, fathered a son at 92. He was a chain smoker with a hunch back and barely ate anything at all (was badly malnourished for all intents and purposes)
