And what do you mean by cut? Like for me to lose weight? I just tried to do 50:50 and wiggled with the carbs to see if I'm gaining any weight. I found using 300g of carbs on my backloads is enough to stay the same weight-wise.

If your goal is to lose weight, I'd suggest not backloading every day. Only post-WO and the second consecutive day off(on which you consume a bit less carbs at night). Another thing I might add is that you don't need to worry about fat intake on backload days, just be 50:50 pre-WO and let the fat come on your backloads but don't let it be too much. Just try to get the daily protein requirement throughout the day.

And again the typical calories in calories out approach doesn't directly apply here. Don't worry about it as long as you're in the guidelines of the protocol.
Simonsky is right. I'm still running SS Advanced Novice, and I'm backloading after the 1st and 3rd workouts of the week. I came into it with the same mind as you are now. I was worried I'd eat too much. So far I haven't gained any weight and have improved in appearance a tiny bit. The biggest thing is that I'm just never hungry anymore after I eat. I've never really experienced that before outside of when I was eating like 5500 calories a day, in which case I was getting fatter. For the first time in my life, I don't feel like I'm on a diet.

The whole calories equation doesn't work on this diet, as Simonsky said, and he has some articles about why. Basically, he says that during your backloads, your body ends up burning lots of the energy off as heat. If you're doing it right you'll wake up sweating like an animal in the middle of the night because of this.

The other lesser known fact about the diet is that the author created it as to be the most healthy human diet based on research. I'm still a bit skeptical as to this part because he doesn't think you really need many vegetables, but he has done the research, so it's not like he's just BSing.

^Where'd you find that he said it was healthy? Haha. I've heard him on a podcast where he says it's not really that "healthy" but his clients have had improved blood profile though.

And regarding the veggies, I've read in the book that it's definitely a must if you want the diet to be optimal. No veggies on back-loads though.

Seriously, I no longer feel hungry, and it's weird. I do the 50/50 part, but not the shakes and supps. I just do whey and water PWO when I'm not backloading. And he is fucking smart. That's why I'm sold. He makes these claims that seem fucking ridiculous to me, and then spouts off all these studies off the top of his head in support and then I'm like, well maybe he does know what he's talking about. I didn't do the prep phase either, which makes me think I'm limiting my results, but I don't have time to do it right now 'cause my brother's visiting me soon and we eat like shit when he comes home.

It's good to know someone else here does this, though. I've been neglecting to mention it despite it's near magical properties because of the general attitude towards simple carbs.

DOn't mention it anywhere man! You'll sound crazy! Hahaha. Eating pizza and waking up leaner? That's BS!

One more question, tzanghi you mentioned you are doing SS. Do you progress with your lifts?

Aslo, simonsky what is your programming and your periodisation on carb back-loading?

I decided to do Jamie J. Skibicki "Exploded SS". The main idea is the same (you try to progress in your lifts from workout to workout), but you do a bit of conditioning (cardio/tabata/metcons) at the end of each workout. What do you guys think of this?

    Day 1
    Squat 3x5
    press 3x5
    conditioning

    Day 2
deadlift 1x5 (possibly a back off set at 90 percent of the first)
    dips 3x5
    Conditioning

    day 3 off

    day 4
    squat 3x5
    bench 3x5
    conditioning

    day 5
    PC 5x3
    chin up 3x5
    conditioning

Conditioning is usually 20 mins on elliptical or Tabata front squats/dumbell thrusters

The program looks good. However, I'm a bit influenced by Kiefer and John Meadows with regards to cardio for fat loss post-WO. They say it's counterproductive, I follow blindly. HAHA

I have progressed somewhat on my lifts, but I think this is the lasting effects of my previous weight gaining period. I took a deload week during which I dieted, then switched to backloading and resumed SS and immediately put 10 lbs on my squat. I would expect weekly gains probably, though. I would suggest just running SS either advanced or regular and then do some fasted conditioning in the morning after the first and last workouts of the week. I have yet to listen to what Kiefer has said on cardio/conditioning though.

I would pick the pistol and clear my ears if I had such shitty genetics.
I got a report about this post. Can you guys not ignore this irrelevant child? Have you not figured out how to set the "ignore" function on the forum controls? If you can't help but read his trolling, at least have the self-control to not whine to Daddy about it. You know our policy about banning trolls - if we do, they just sign back up under another name. We only ban for multiple accounts and spam. EVERY TIME YOU REACT NEGATIVELY TO THIS LITTLE PIECE OF SHIT, HE LAUGHS AT YOU AND STROKES HIS STEELY-HARD TWO-INCH DICK. Don't feed the trolls.
