    Default Texas Method Critique

Hi. I have run SS a couple of times and decided to switch to Texas Method after progress became tough. I am 31, 5'8" and 170 pounds.
    Current 3x5 lifts:
    Squat: 357.5
Bench: 215 (was 265 pre injury)
Press: 147.5 (was 175 pre injury)
    PC (5x3): 150 (was 185 pre injury)
    DL (1x5): 365

    My new work out is:
    Sunday (Volume)
    5x5 Squat (start 315)
    5x5 Press (start 120)
    3x5 PC (start 135)
    3xreps Chinup BW

Wednesday (middle of week work out)
2x5 Squat (would front squats be okay? start 250)
3x5 Bench Press (start 135...should this be higher or kept low?)
1x5 Deadlift (start 365...should this be lower?)
    3x15 Dips BW

    Friday (Intensity)
    1x5 Squat (start 360)
    1x5 Press (start 150)
5x5 Back Ext. with a plate
    3x5 Chin-ups (start with 50)

I plan on adding a sprint conditioning workout on Monday and Thursday once I get used to the added volume. Any feedback you could give me on this would be helpful and appreciated.

Move deadlifts to Friday. Get rid of back extensions. Otherwise, your program is fine.

Thank you for the advice. I will dumps back extensions and move deadlifts to Friday. Is there anything I can add on Wednesday to assist with deadlifts?

No, just work the cleans hard on Monday. If you need extra work to drive your deadlift do it in the way of back off sets after your main deadlift sets on Friday....i.e. SLDLs, Deficit Deads, BB Rows, etc. No need to add this stuff though until you know you need it.

During my first 12 week cycle of Texas Method which ended with a Powerlifting meet yesterday, I did Power Cleans as my last exercise on Light Day. Should Power Cleans always be on Volume Day or is it ok either way? I'm 44, lifting for 18 months and my PC is pretty light relative to my deadlift. 167 for 15 singles vs 457 1RM Dead. (if my stats make a difference). Thank you.

Power clean on the light day is completely appropriate for a guy that isn't real good at cleans. Even a really high volume of super light cleans isn't going to provide enough stress to move a real heavy deadlift on Friday.
