Default Epic Oatmeal with sourkrout and peanut butter

This has strong flavor contrasts: sweet, sour, salty, spicy.
If you are under 30 or not an adventurous eater, you'll hate this.

    Chop up these:
    1 green apple
    1/4th raw onion
1 green serrano or jalapeno pepper (or part of one if you've not built up much tolerance yet)

Add to small pot with water and 1/2 cup dry oatmeal, bring to boil and turn off.

At the same time, heat 1 1/2 cups frozen broccoli in the microwave.
At the same time, scramble 4 eggs in a lot of butter, add salt and pepper.

Put all of the above together into a big bowl.
Add 1/2 cup sourkrout, 1/4 cup natural peanut butter, stir.

Goes well with strong tea or coffee and whole milk.

About 900 calories, 45 grams protein.
Fiber is enormous, vitamins & minerals good.
    Sugar is low.

    For more protein: increase eggs
    For more carbs: increase oats
For more fats: this is already pretty fatty, but I guess more peanut butter or butter

Minus the peanut butter, oatmeal and "lots" of butter i have something similar to that for dinner on a regular basis.

Based on my experiments mixing in that peanut butter would do a lot of damage to the eggs and even vegetables. How do you approach that ?

Just curious what being under 30 has to do with this?

I mix it in at the end after everything is cooked, then eat it immediately.

Maybe because our sense of smell weakens.

    Also I enjoy teasing youngsters.
Probably this is because I envy their recovery abilities.

I see. I'll probably give this a try. Mostly because I've always hated oatmeal for how bland it normally is. I think my senses of smell and taste started going when I was 5 though based on the kinds of flavors I like. I used to like drinking lemon juice and vinegar (not together) when I was younger. Now I think they've just been replaced by Vodka, Rum, Gin and Whiskey.

Also, quit picking on us youngsters. It's still hard for us to recover because we don't know how to deal with stress yet.

    I hope you like it!

    Re: stress: good point.
I finally learned sleep hygiene at about 35, I was chronically tired the previous 20 years. If I could go back in time...
Re: teasing, suck it up dude. You're likely stronger than I am, as is everyone participating this thread. I have to rescue my self esteem somehow, right?

I'd probably try it without the broccoli.
