Got in for a day workout today.

Squat, light day. 45x5x2, 135x5, 225x5, 315x5x3. No sleeves or belt.

    Press. 45x5x2, 95x5, 115x5, 135x5, 155x3, 175x5x3. Maybe time for 5-lb increments.

Deadlift. 135x5, 225x5, 315x5, 365x3, 395x5. No belt. I just caught up on Mark's discussion last winter of belts that are too big being worse than no belt for deadlift. I thought I give it a try, and I'm sold. This was the first time I can remember that I felt like my back was in proper position under heavy load. Also, the setup with tightening everything up unto discomfort never quit made sense before. Totally do-able without belt. My back felt better than it has recently after belted deadlifts.

    Wednesday night:

    Squat: 45x5x2, 135x5, 225x5, 315x5, 365x2, 400x5 (~466), 380x5, 380x5.
Pretty hard overall. I got loose on #4 of the heavy set and had to fight it out, but #5 was fine. Back off sets required plenty of rest. I forgot my knee sleeves today, so no sleeves.

    Bench: 45x5x2, 115x5, 135x5, 185x5, 225x3, 245x2, 265x5x3.
First work set was hardest. Then I set up and stayed tight for the next two. Will be time for one heavy and two backoff sets soon.

edit: I could feel it while I was benching, and I can really feel it the day after: Teaching an aggressive 250lb freshman who just came off a HS wrestling career how to do tricep slicers -- using your own body -- may not be the best idea in the world the day before benching.

edit^2: I guess I could note that 400x5 is a rep PR for me.

Great work all around, pf! Especially the squats...The reps in your vid made it look easy, in fact.

Thanks, OM! 400x5 is a mini milestone set for me. The big one will be 405x5, which should come in a few days.

    Sunday:
Life got in the way, and I had to skip yesterday's light squat day, so I just rolled on with another heavy day today.

Squat: 45x5x2, 135x5, 225x5, 315x5, 365x2, 385x1, 405x5(~472), 380x5, 380x5. w00t! Another rep PR! This is a big, big milestone for me, and it went up pretty easy. I didn't want to do a light day and end up with a week between hard days. It was the right choice.

Press: 45x5x2, 95x5, 115x5, 135x5, 155x3, 180x5x3. This was hard, and my shoulders were sore afterwards.

Thanks, Bryan! These day workouts allow me to bring more caffeine to bear on the situation, which usually helps things.

There are times in man's life when he feels the need to "rise up". ^^This is one of those times.
