    Monday 19/01/2015
    Week 10 - VD
    BW = 104.7

    Squat Paused 3ct: 152.5x5x3
    Bench Paused 3ct: 102x3x3

    Pretty good today. Was tired and fatigued from moving house over the weekend.
    Both looked pretty much the same as last week but quicker I think. Moving up next week.
    Just realised Sunday week is my next comp!

    Wednesday 21/01/2015
    Week 10 - LD

    Squat: 132.5x5x2
    Press: 80x3,3,1...
    P/Clean: 87.5x3x5 (Power Jerked last rep, easy)

    Press is a big PB for me. Didn't finish last set as the first rep got forward and I over-corrected aaaaaand hit my chin on the way up, got to eyebrow height and stopped moving so terminated set.

    Friday 23/01/2015
    Week 10 - VD2

    Squat: 155x5,5,3...
    Bench: 104x3x3

    Squat was fine but heavy. Bar path was good and only slowed down near the end, gave up after knees felt odd even though speed was good.
    Bench went well. I had rep 2 & 3 on second set grind out due to bar path issues. Fixed it with the third set so happy overall.
    Moved my ID to Monday and did next week's VD to warm up last heavy session before comp Sunday week.

    1 week. Sunday 01/02/2015. Will be hitting PBs monday. It's my second comp so not worried about any peaking phases where volume reduced and intensity up although by practicing pause reps on my VD i have reduced volume so in a way kind of deload?

    Monday 26/01/2015 - Australia Day!
    Week 11 - ID. Comp Week
    BW = 103.8

    Squat: 187.5x5 PB
    Bench: 110x3x2 PB
    Deadlift: 190x3x3 PB

    Good day! Squats were heavy but i battled for the full 5 reps rather than two triples like i thought may be needed. Reps 4 and 5 were a bit high i think and i had my knees fall in at the bottom.
    Bench was ok on second set. First set i was aiming for it if i could get it but rep 3 was the slowest in history after i pressed straight up and got stuck but pushed through.
    Deadlifts i had some looseness in upper back causing the bar to only just touch my legs rather than dragging. Good speed and happy with that.
    Recovery was compromised due to missing a meal and alcohol yesterday from my friends Australia Day celebrations. I'm impressed considering.
    Looking really good for this weekends comp.

    Matt is unable to lift with the IPF as his beard constitutes a prohibited assistance to his lifts.

    Sunday 01/02/2015 - Comp Day!
    GPC NSW State Championships @ PTC Sydney.
    BW = 104.2kg (110kg Class)

    Squat: 175/195/205kg PR
    Bench: 105/115 PR/120kg PR
    Deadlift: 185/200 PR/220kg PR
    Total: 545kg (452/264/485=1201# for my imperial friends)

    Really happy with how this meet went. I exceeded my predictions/wishes.
    Bar moved fast, still left some kg in the tank. I was lucky to get my 120 bench white lighted (2/3) as it got stuck part way up then wasn't completely stable at extension, the calls were quick.
    Squat felt great. Opened light and my second attempt was the same as my third attempt from first comp went fast. Third wasn't slow either. I had some form issues with knees moving and hips shooting back but felt fairly easy considering the big PR. No wraps used and the mono and thick bar were my biggest issue getting in the groove, just doesn't feel right using a thicker bar and not walking out (no walk-outs allowed).
    Bench felt great until I got stuck on my third attempt. Had to squeeze harder and got a cramp in my mid-back when I did, luckily finished the lift and didn't take away from my deads.
    Deadlifts were good. My form has slightly changed recently due to not fixing the issue. I've been looking down instead of slightly forward which I will be changing when I do them from now on. Was going for 215 but the 200 shot up, felt good and everyone said how easy it looked, so 220 it was for a huge PR.
    Caught up with Simon (Rugbysmartarse on here) and was good to have someone to talk to.
    Now I have to decided whether to go to nationals or not. (no min. total required in Australian GPC)

    Recovery light day

    Press: 60x5x3

    Just moving the body.
    Presses felt good. Skipped power cleans due to time and motivation resources.
